It’s a new year. There are many suggestions out there for goals and resolutions. Some of us have already broken our resolution about eating more healthy and exercising. Well, maybe today we will start again.
Scripture says, “Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12 God has given us a mind, memory, feelings and emotions. We can use those things to mature in our faith, obedience, relationships or we can stay stuck in the past. We have to make an effort to keep any resolution.
How will you grow spiritually this year? Will you work at it or leave it to chance?
There are several opportunities being offered to grow. Monday mornings at 8:00 a group meets for prayer and Bible study. Two new times are being offered for Bible study starting Wednesday, February 1 at 6:30 pm and Sunday morning at 10:00. All 3 groups will be studying, “30 Days to Understanding the Bible” by Max Anders. Call the church, 217-566-3614 if you would like to order a book. Books are currently on sale for $11. All are welcome. You don’t have to be a member of this church or any church.
Knotty Quilters meets on Thursday mornings from 9:00-11:30ish. All are welcome. You don’t have to know how to hand quilt as we tie our quilts. Come for the fellowship and fun.
Men’s Group meets once a month in Chatham. The next meeting is January 21. All men are welcome.
